Page history last edited by mdy 15 years, 5 months ago

If you’ve heard CNN anchor Rick Sanchez invite viewers to send him messages through Twitter, but you don’t know how, this guide is for you!

To send messages to Rick Sanchez, you need to follow these three simple steps:

A. Create a Twitter account

B. Go to your Home page

C. Send Rick a Twitter @reply

Each of these steps is explained below.

If you already have a Twitter account, skip Step A and Step B. Instead, go to http://twitter.com/home to login to your account, then do Step C.

A. CREATE A TWITTER ACCOUNT

  1. On your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.), go to http://twitter.com/signup
    1. Choose a username.
    2. Enter the password you want to use with Twitter
    3. Enter your email address.
    4. Fill in the “humanness” reCaptcha box with the words displayed in the box
    5. Click the [I accept. Create my account.] button

B. GO TO YOUR HOME PAGE

  1. Twitter will take you to the “Are your Friends on Twitter?” page.
  2. Skip this step by clicking on the Twitter logo in the upper left corner.

Click the Twitter logo to go to your home page

C. SEND RICK A TWITTER @REPLY

  1. After you click on the Twitter logo in Step B, Twitter will take you to your home page, which is http://twitter.com/home
  2. If you have a message for Rick, type it into the “What are you doing?” box.
  3. You MUST start your message with “@ricksanchezcnn” (without the quotes). For example: @ricksanchezcnn I think it's really cool that you're using Twitter to listen to your viewers!
  4. Click the Update button to send Rick your message.

Send Rick a Twitter @REPLY

And that’s it! You've sent Rick Sanchez your first message. Just keep typing into the "What are you doing box?" to send more messages.
